Playlist Archive
As long as music has been digital, I’ve been making mixes. As long as I’ve been making mixes, I’ve kept them around long after I’ve stopped listening to them for some OCD reason or another. For a while I thought it was because one day I would figure out how to cash in on used silicon or there would be a sudden demand and I’d be the worlds richest pauper. But I finally figured out why: pure nostalgia. In fact, this is great – I’m relatively certain I’ve got some mixes from as far back possibly as 1998 when I first got my drivers license, used Audiogalaxy, and had an awful, embarrassing taste in music
My archived playlists will probably take one of three forms:
- Rock Blocks (two songs from each artist, sometimes consecutively)
- Themes (Bass-heavy songs, etc)
- Special Occasions (holiday mixes or road trips)
They’re also most likely from one of three times in my life
- High School,
- Undergrad time at Syracuse
- Undergrad time at Rutgers after I got thrown out of Syracuse
Now that lala.com is no more, I’m going to use playlist.com to embed the tracks, though it isn’t the most reliable. I’ll post the missing tracks via YouTube at the end of each play list.
Here are the playlists so far:
