The following songs must be played at my wedding:

Choder

Now, it’s not fair to simply just ban music without giving some indication of songs that absolutely must be played at the wedding, whether they are simply fun, fit our personality, or have some special meaning to us. The following is that list, with examples when available. Note: it does not include “our song”.

The Way You Make-a Me Feel -- Michael Jackson

No explanation necessary

Get Down On It -- Kool and the Gang

This is going to be used to get everyone’s back up off the wall

Day-O (Banana Boat Song) -- Harry Belafonte

Will be played as the Shrimp is served

You Never Can Tell -- Chuck Berry

It worked so well for Ms. Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega

Regulators -- Warren G f/Nate Dogg

Now, Warren G is going to annoy my mom probably, but it is vital it be played.

I Believe In A Thing Called Love -- The Darkness

Entrance song

Caught Up In You -- .38 Special

I’ve threatened to include this so often for so long that Em now likes the song

Hotel Yorba -- White Stripes

This might be somewhat played out, but it’s too good not to include.

I Love You -- the Bees

Too smooth to not play at the wedding

When My Baby’s Beside Me -- Big Star

Only because Thirteen might be too beautiful/slow

Golden -- My Morning Jacket

Would have been “our song” if it weren’t so damn long

I Only Want You -- Eagles of Death Metal

We listened to this all the time when we first started hanging out

Do You Realize -- The Flaming Lips

I think this would be the perfect “last song”

And there you have it. Granted, I’ll have other requests for the DJ, but my goal is to let him do what we’re paying him to do -- choose songs to keep people moving.
