Queens of the Stone Age fight Cancer

Choder

For those of you who are fans of any one of these bands, you should be fans of the others as well. Queens of the Stone Age likely need no introduction, and Them Crooked Vultures are what happens when Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones get bored and make music together. But Eagles are somewhat lesser known, though just as rockin’.

Anyway, the bassist for Eagles of Death Metal was recently diagnosed with cancer, and he’s got no insurance, as artists typically don’t. So there’s that. He played on Eagle’s latest two releases, Death By Sexy and Heart On, with the latter being their most successful release to date. They also rock live.

As a result, Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures are doing/have done some benefit shows to help. Antiquiet is reporting a series of European dates this August with Queens playing their first shows since 2008. But more importantly, Consequence of Sound gives the lowdown on the only States-side tour date at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, and tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday the 16th) at Ticketmaster.

Here are my most favorite, and therefore the best tracks featuring Mr. O’Connor:
